1. List 12 random things about yourself that have to do with Christmas
2. Please refer to it as a 'hoopla' and not the dreaded 'm'-word
3. You have to specifically tag people when you're done. None of this "if you're reading this, consider yourself tagged" stuff is allowed...then nobody ends up actually doing it. The number of people who you tag is really up to you -- but the more, the merrier to get this 'hoopla' circulating through the blogosphere.
4. Please try and do it as quickly as possible. The Christmas season will be over before we know it and I'd like to get as many people involved as possible.
12 Random Christmas Things About Jodi:
(I'm afraid several points may sound like Heather's. Maybe that's why I like her so much.)

1. I seem to decorate earlier and earlier every year. This year I started the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It took about 3 days to finish. I, like Heather, will start pulling things down the morning following Christmas. It's funny how empty the house seems after it's all gone, but I love the clean, uncluttered feeling.
2. I LOVE to shop on Black Friday. After Thanksgiving dinner, we leave the girls at one of the grandmothers for the night, and then Romeo and I spread all the newspapers out on the floor and make the "master game plan" for the early bird specials. We got up at 4:00 this year, and were at Best Buy by 5:00. We are finished by 8:00 A.M., and then I join the girls for mall shopping for the remainder of the day.
3. I'm a horrible secret keeper. I get this from my mom. By Christmas Eve I'm ready to blow any surprises. Romeo is the complete opposite. One year, we almost had an argument because I demanded that he open his gift at like 11:00 on Christmas Eve. I just couldn't wait any longer.
4. I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was in second grade. My crazy mother wrapped all the "Santa" presents in the same paper that she wrapped everybody else's gifts in. I think my brother probably confirmed my suspicions.
5. I love Christmas jewelry! I'm sure those great big gaudy silver Santa necklaces are probably out of style, but I don't care. I still love to wear it-not like every day though:)!
6. I LOVE Christmas music. I play it incessantly. I'm currently driving my family crazy because we now have Sirius on our T.V. Channel 2 is constant Christmas. Did you know there are three versions of "Baby It's Cold Outside"?
7. I have a gift closet for which I buy things year round. By Thanksgiving, I make a master list of people for whom I plan to give gifts. I lay out all the great deals that I have accumulated throughout the year, and start assigning the gifts to the appropriate people. This year after all was said and done, I only had about 8 gifts to buy, husband and children notwithstanding. It's a great money saver. Think of those great deals after Christmas.
8. I love to go to Christmas parties. My favorite are finger food parties. I would rather finger food than real food any day.
9. We no longer travel all over creation for Christmas. We go to Romeo's mom's for Christmas Eve, and my mom's for Christmas dinner-all within 30 minutes of our house. I decided when I had kids, I wouldn't make them leave their goodies.
10. Getting our family picture for the Christmas card has become an obsession of mine. It takes about three different picture sessions before I'll agree that one is suitable. All my favorites are ones that Sally Ray has taken over the years.
11. Christmas Memory--My brother and I always would get up during the wee hours of the morning on Christmas day, like 3 or 4 A.M. My girls started that last year. We told them they had to stand at the top of the stairs and shout to wake us so that we could start the camera rolling to catch their expressions.
12. I love ALL the Christmas Hooplah!! Every bit of it. It's my favorite time of year!
