Cedar Grove Children's Christmas Party

Today, we had our children's Christmas party right after morning service. Our involvement team planned the event. I believe Heather was the mastermind behind the idea. It turned out beautifully! We had a surprise visit from Santa followed by a lunch of Pizza Hut pizza for everyone. After lunch, the children met in the auditorium for a devotional by Todd and Romeo. Then, the children broke off into their Sunday School groups. Each group met in their classrooms and made ornaments. I did the ornaments for Reagan's group. I should have done a test run. The paint that we purchased wasn't plain acrylic so it didn't flow inside the glass ornament. Instead it was like mud. So, being a teacher I just quickly improvised, and we painted the outside of the ornaments. The kids could have cared less. Sophie's group made foam ornaments headed up by Randi. After ornaments, the children met back in the fellowship hall for cookie decorating. Many thanks to Jana who baked three cookies for every child to decorate. It was a delightful day!

The Brinkley Family

The girls were quite serious about their cookie decorating.

Everyone was trying to figure out where Reagan got her need for perfectionism. Not me!

Sophie was also a serious decorator!

Here the girls are with one of their favorite adopted "Aunties", Ms. Anne. Annie-You're the greatest!

Mommy and her girls

Reagan and Riley-We enjoyed having Riley at our house this weekend while her mom and dad were at the hospital with the newest addition to their family- new baby sister, Ivy.
Best Buddies

Silly Will, Randi's grandson, and Reagan-Every time the girls came near he would cackle!

The girls with our surprise guest of honor-SANTA! They both asked for Webkinz. I think Santa can handle that.

This picture is priceless. Sophie between the Minichowski boys. Notice Mason looking angelic-Who are you fooling boy? In about ten years we'll be doing a hand check. :)

Randi and Sophie with their ornament decorating. How did Randi luck out with foam ornaments while I was across the hall getting covered in paint?

This is before it got messy! I ended up with green and gold paint on my new sweater.

This is little Mr. Clark with Santa. What a big boy.

As you can see, it was a great success. I think this might be a new tradition for Cedar Grove.
